Privacy Policy
Pewter: Form Gatekeeper ("the app") is a Shopify app operated by Jackson Rowley, doing business as Pewter ("we", "us"). It lets merchants collect applications on their store and approve applicants as Shopify customers. This policy explains what the app collects, how it's used and when it's deleted.
The merchant decides what their forms collect and is responsible for that data. We process it on the merchant's behalf. If you applied through a store, contact that store first with questions about your data.
What we collect
From applicants: whatever the merchant's form asks for, such as name, email, phone, business name, address, tax details, answers to the merchant's questions and uploaded files. We also record the submitter's IP address and browser type to prevent spam.
From merchants: the store's address, the app's settings, billing status, notification email addresses, and the name and email of staff who use the app.
How we use it
- To show applications to the merchant for review.
- To email applicants and merchants about applications.
- To carry out the merchant's chosen actions in Shopify, such as creating the customer, adding tags, recording marketing consent and sending an account invite.
We don't sell data or use it for advertising.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers we use to host the app and send its emails, and with Shopify to run the app. Each uses it only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
- Applications are kept as long as the merchant's retention setting for that form, or until the merchant deletes them.
- When a merchant uninstalls the app, all of their store's data is deleted about 48 hours later.
- When Shopify sends us a customer's deletion request, we delete that customer's applications and files.
Your rights
Customers can ask a store for a copy of their data or for it to be deleted, and Shopify passes those requests to us. Anyone can also contact us at [email protected] to access, correct or delete their information.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, and access is limited to the app's operator. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep only what the app needs.
Cookies
The app adds no tracking or advertising cookies. This website sets no cookies.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
